Last night I was moved to tears repeatedly ... amazing how you can be a Christian for so many years and then one day it just clicks ... He did that ... He endured that ... for me?!

Missions

BRAZIL 2003:

DRIME’s third consecutive summer mission trip to Gramado, Brazil, came as an opportunity to minister with DRIME’s first international extension base and strengthen DRIME’s partnership with Janz Team. The trip was unique because with it came an opportunity to join forces with the Christian rock band Ember Days. Having music ministry as part of the trip added a new and exciting element to ministry – not only was the team able to attract Brazilians with dramas choreographed to North American music, they were also able to witness through live Christian music.

The entire team was quickly reminded of how powerfully the Lord can use drama for His purposes. The first ten days of ministry consisted of an extensive tour of eight major cities in the states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. By the end of their three weeks in Brazil, DRIME had impacted forty-two audiences in fourteen different cities.

“As a people much closer to religion and spirituality, the Brazilians were sensitive to the message of the gospel. They responded to our performances in a range of ways, from crying to turning their heads away in denial. Rarely in North America does DRIME perform for people so gripped by the message of the dramas.”   - Michael Prins

“Right now I am standing on stage in awe because moments ago our DRIME team was asked to leave the stage. Our message, apparently, revolves too much around Jesus. Asked to leave! I’m thrilled. Jesus is pursuing hearts and getting too close for comfort. The bazaar coordinators allow Ember Days to play one more song. Instead of singing one of their songs, the band begins to sing the worship song “Did you feel the mountains tremble.” I’m backstage with the team, praying for the Holy Spirit to rock this place. We end our prayer and join the band on stage. Worshipping God. I can feel the spiritual worlds clashing – it’s a definite effort to praise, but also an extreme joy, because in doing so, I am casting my fear of rejection aside and claiming Jesus above all else.”
